Casey Dubois
“When preparing to climb a mountain, pack a light heart.”
—Dan May
Wes ðu hāl (greetings)! My name is Casey Dubois. It is my sincere hope that this page lends itself to informing you, dear reader, about anything you need to know about me. This ePortfolio started as a project for a class at South Piedmont Community College, for the purpose of aiding my professional life. In the menu button, you will find this page, an About Me page, a Goals page, a Core Skills page, a Program Outcomes page, an Addition Education page, and my resume.
The central theme for this ePortfolio is likening life to mountain climbing. While that especially applies to my time at SPCC, my entire life has been a journey upwards, meeting new challenges, learning new skills, and bettering my understanding the whole while. This perspective I have taken has also been informed by such thinkers as St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. John of the Cross, the Very Rev. Dr. Stephen de Young, Jonathan Pageau, and Mattieu Pageau, who all have produced material that describes this metaphysical/metaphorical mountain of divine ascent.
This theme will be shown throughout this site with a mountain-esque color scheme, paired with images of either myself hiking/climbing (most of which are from several years ago, so please forgive my often scraggly appearance), or showing religious art of persons engaging with the holy mountain and encountering God there. Various quotes treating on the mountainous nature of how humanity engages with the world will also be interspersed throughout the various pages.
